Job Summary:

Packer Manufacturing (Boots) is responsible for supporting the final stages of the manufacturing process by inspecting, packaging, labelling, and preparing finished footwear products for storage and shipment in accordance with company quality standards and customer requirements. This role involves a variety of production support and material handling tasks to ensure efficient workflow, accurate order fulfillment, and timely delivery of finished goods.

Expected to maintain product quality through careful inspection, ensure proper packaging and documentation, and assist with inventory movement and general production support activities as needed. The position requires strict adherence to safety procedures, quality standards, and standard operating procedures while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment. Collaboratively with Production, Quality, Warehouse, and Shipping personnel to support operational excellence and achieve departmental productivity, quality, and customer service objectives.

Scope of job:

This role supports efficient manufacturing operations by verifying product quality, maintaining packaging accuracy, and ensuring the timely movement of finished goods throughout the production and distribution process. The Packer Utility is expected to follow established standard operating procedures, safety requirements, and quality control practices while maintaining productivity, minimizing waste, and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Collaborates with Production, Quality Assurance, Warehouse, Shipping, and other operational teams to support continuous workflow, inventory accuracy, and on‑time customer deliveries. Also assists with general housekeeping, material replenishment, and other production‑related tasks as assigned, contributing to a safe, organized, and efficient manufacturing environment focused on operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Inspect finished boots and footwear products for quality, appearance, labeling, and packaging accuracy according to established standards.
  • Package finished products using approved materials and methods while ensuring proper protection during storage and transportation.
  • Verify product information, quantities, labels, tags, and documentation to ensure order accuracy and traceability.
  • Prepare finished goods for shipment by organizing, palletizing, and staging products according to customer and warehouse requirements.
  • Support production operations by assisting with material movement, replenishment, and workflow activities as needed.
  • Operate basic packaging equipment and tools safely and efficiently in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain accurate production, packaging, and inventory‑related records as required.
  • Identify and report product defects, packaging issues, safety concerns, or process abnormalities to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Follow all company quality procedures, work instructions, and manufacturing standards to ensure consistent product output.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by following 5S principles and workplace housekeeping standards.
  • Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist team members and other departments to support production goals and meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities focused on improving safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Education, Experience, and/or Certifications:

  • 5S Workplace Organization and Visual Management Training.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.
  • Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, and reach above shoulder level.
  • Ability to frequently use hands and fingers to handle, grasp, operate tools, equipment, keyboards, and other production‑related devices.
  • Ability to visually inspect products, equipment, production processes, and workplace conditions, including close and distance.

  • Stop or suspend work when an unsafe condition presents an immediate risk to employees, equipment, product quality, or the environment, and promptly notify management.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free work area in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards.
  • Perform all job duties in a manner that protects the health and safety of employees, contractors, visitors, company assets, and the environment.

Quality & Process Excellence:

  • Ensure all products meet Lucchese quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Reinforce adherence to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Prevent unauthorized process changes and elevate improvement opportunities through the appropriate approval process.
  • Partner with Quality and Manufacturing leadership to investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.
