The Packaging Technician 1 & 2 responsibilities include detecting and identifying defect trends during the inspection of manufactured products, accurately inspecting and selecting product samples for quality and stability testing, and verifying product and diluent vial labeling for accuracy. Additional duties involve setting up, operating, troubleshooting packaging equipment, manual packaging, inspecting products, conducting counts, and operating material handling equipment.
Additional responsibilities include setting up and operating label verification systems, vial labelers, cartoners, and shrink banding machines, and conducting periodic challenges for packaging systems.
Ability to work effectively in a team, pass vision testing for near vision and colorblindness, identify product defects according to PDA Lexicon and SOPs, and maintain focus during tasks.
Tech 1: High School Diploma, packaging operator/inspector experience preferred. Duties include troubleshooting, maintaining, and changeover of packaging equipment, reviewing and entering data into systems like LIMS and SAP, and ensuring correct components are used.
Tech 2: HS Diploma, 1-year packaging inspector/label verification experience in pharma or biotech preferred. Work involves a manufacturing environment with exposure to biological fluids, chemicals, machinery, noise, and extreme temperatures. Personal protective equipment is required, and tasks may include lifting, bending, reaching, and communication skills for effective information exchange.
