Southside Market & Barbeque in Elgin, TX is seeking a Packaging Technician I to join our processing team. Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor/FSQA Manager, you will package raw and smoked products, operate the packaging equipment, and ensure labels meet USDA guidelines.

Responsibilities include cutting and packaging products, weighing, pricing, boxing for shipping, sanitizing equipment, and maintaining a clean packaging area.

Qualifications

• One to two years of food manufacturing experience preferred.
• Food Handler Certification required; Southside can assist in obtaining this.
• Ability to understand English for all job-related circumstances.

Responsibilities

• Packages all raw and smoked products.
• Operates the packaging machine and shrink wrap equipment.
• Labels all packages according to USDA guidelines.
• Weighs and prices all packaged products.
• Boxes products and prepares them for shipping.
• Maintains clean and sanitized packaging area and equipment.
• Observes safety and security standards.
