Job summary

Baxter International Inc. is hiring a Production Technician I, Packaging, to maintain line operations and ensure safety, quality, and efficiency.

You will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with shift flexibility and extensive training. You will support batch changes, document procedures, and assist with quality checks while collaborating with maintenance and other line personnel to meet daily production goals.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Possess or be able to obtain Worksaver Certification.
  • Possess or be able to obtain Inspector Certification.
  • Production/manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Basic English written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematics.
  • Proficient in using a calculator and measurement tools.
  • Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Set up line with proper materials per BOM and verify batch documents.
  • Load and replenish production supplies to meet schedule needs.
  • Determine staffing requirements to meet production goals.
  • Initiate batch and exception documents as required.
  • Perform tasks per procedures and document shifts accurately.
  • Perform quality checks per SOP and document results.
  • Conduct equipment pre-flight checks and daily walk-arounds as applicable.
  • Monitor line equipment with PT2/maintenance to optimize performance.
  • Complete PM tasks or support on departments PM activities.
  • Document equipment issues in maintenance systems and shift notes.
  • Document equipment adjustments in batch maintenance per packing SOP.
  • Relieve for breaks and perform duties on other lines as needed.
  • Communicate with Filling Line on issues affecting quality or production.
  • Maintain packing area in audit-ready state using 6S daily.
  • Verify cleaning per standard work manual.
  • Notify supervision of safety/quality/maintenance issues promptly.
  • Complete monthly inventory counts of materials as applicable.
  • Document daily production and equipment issues in shift notes.
  • Enter daily production, labor hours, and verified entries into NAMFGERP and packing worksheet.
  • Ensure personnel on line are trained, certified, and qualified.
  • Train new PTIs on responsible processes.
