Plastic Technology Inc. in Hickory, NC is seeking a Packaging Tech for 1st shift. The role runs Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM and pays $16.00 per hour base plus a $1.00 per hour shift differential, totaling $17.00 per hour.

You will read daily line assignments, assemble boxes, apply labels, identify obvious defects, and coordinate with material handlers and operators to resolve issues. A high school diploma is preferred but not required; basic math and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and understand verbal and written instructions.
• Must have minimal math skills.
• High school diploma preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Understand daily line assignment such as piece count, label, and shrink-wrapping requirements.
• Assemble boxes and apply correct labels.
• Identify any obvious defects in products and report them.
• Communicate with material handlers, operators, and packers to solve concerns.
• Scrap foam using racks when product isn’t ready to pack.
• Complete proper set up and shut down procedures.
• Practice proper safety and housekeeping during each shift.
• Must be able to work well within a team.
• WIP, rework, or non-conforming product.
• Maintain safe operation.
