Job summary

Tomball Controls is seeking a shop-oriented assembler who measures, compares, and performs calculations to ensure products align with specifications. You will handle material fit ups with steel and secure workpieces using hand tools and forklifts.

The role requires reading blueprints, operating power tools, lifting up to 50 lbs, and collaborating well with team members while maintaining quality workmanship in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Heavy equipment experience required.
• Able to read tape measure.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Able to read blueprints.
• Able to troubleshoot and problem solve.
• Must be highly motivated.
• Able to communicate and work well with others.
• Read, write and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Measure, compare and perform shop calculations to ensure products conform to engineering or sales specs using tools and equipment in the shop.
• Material fit ups and layouts with steel.
• Position and secure workpieces using hand tools, forklifts, etc.
• Inspect products/equipment for defects or malfunctions.
• Sanding/grinding.
• Breaking out steel.
• Steel panel assembly with bolt together construction.
• Material handling/forklift.

• Measure, compare and make simple or complex shop calculations necessary to ensure products are in conformance with engineering or sales specifications using materials, methods and equipment in the shop (included but not limited to sanders, drills, air, and electric hand cutting tools)
• Material fit ups and layouts with steel
• Position and secure workpieces using hand tools, forklifts, etc.
• Inspect products/equipment for defects/malfunctions
• Sanding/grinding
• Breaking out steel
• Steel panel assembly with bolt together construction
• Material handling/forklift

Requirements

• HS Diploma or equivalent, required
