Job summary

Tomball Controls, LLC in Wisconsin is seeking a shop technician to measure, calculate, and assemble parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will support production by performing precise measurements, layout work, and quality checks on steel components.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, using power tools, operating forklifts, and ensuring products meet engineering specifications. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs and strong teamwork and communication.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Heavy equipment experience required.
• Able to use power tools and read a tape measure.
• Able to read blueprints and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to troubleshoot and problem solve; communicate well with others.

Responsibilities

• Measure, compare and perform shop calculations to ensure conformance with specs.
• Material fit ups and layouts with steel; position and secure workpieces using hand tools / forklifts.
• Inspect products/equipment for defects or malfunctions; sand and grind as needed.
• Break out steel and assemble steel panels with bolt-together construction.
• Material handling and forklift operation as part of daily tasks.

Description

• Measure, compare and make simple or complex shop calculations necessary to ensure products are in conformance with engineering or sales specifications using materials, methods and equipment in the shop (included but not limited to sanders, drills, air, and electric hand cutting tools)
• Material fit ups and layouts with steel
• Position and secure workpieces using hand tools, forklifts, etc.
• Inspect products/equipment for defects/malfunctions
• Sanding/grinding
• Breaking out steel
• Steel panel assembly with bolt together construction
• Material handling/forklift

Requirements

• HS Diploma or equivalent, required
• Heavy equipment experience required
• Shipping experience, preferred
• Able to use power tools
• Able to read tape measure
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Able to read blueprints
• Able to troubleshoot and problem solve
• Must be highly motivated
• Able to communicate and work well with others
• Read, write and speak English fluently
