Job summary

Tomball Controls, LLC in Pleasanton, TX is seeking a MIG Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. You will weld and fabricate components for fuel tanks, enclosures, and access platforms, collaborating with a crew to meet engineering specs.

The role requires 2–3 years MIG welding experience, ability to read blueprints and tape measures, and the stamina to lift 50 lbs. Regular hours are 6:00am-4:30PM, Monday-Thursday with some Fridays.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• 2–3 years MIG welding experience required.
• Able to read tape measure and blueprints; able to read blueprints.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and use power tools.

Responsibilities

• Measure and perform shop calculations to ensure conformance with specs.
• Perform material fitups and layouts with steel.
• MIG welding as part of a team.
• Position and secure workpieces using hand tools and lifting equipment.
• Inspect products and equipment for defects/malfunctions.
• Sand/ grind as needed.
• Break out steel as required.
• Assemble steel panels with bolt-together construction.
• Handle materials and operate forklift as needed.

Core Responsibility:

• Measure, compare and make simple or complex shop calculations necessary to ensure products are in conformance with engineering or sales specifications using materials, methods and equipment in the shop (included but not limited to sanders, drills, air, and electric hand cutting tools)
• Material fit ups and layouts with steel
• MIG Welding as part of a team
• Position and secure workpieces using hand tools, forklifts, etc.
• Inspect products/equipment for defects/malfunctions
• Sanding/grinding
• Breaking out steel
• Steel panel assembly with bolt together construction
• Material handling/forklift

Requirements

• HS Diploma or equivalent, preferred
• Manufacturing/Fabrication experience
• 2-3 years of MIG Welding experience, required
• Able to use power tools
• Able to read tape measure/Blueprints
• Able to lift 50 lbs
• Able to read blueprints
• Able to troubleshoot and problem solve
• Must be highly motivated
• Able to communicate and work well with others
• Read, write, and speak English fluently
• Must have reliable transportation
