Job summary

ALPLA St. Peters Plant in Saint Peters, MO is seeking a Packaging Operator to support daily production.

You will coordinate packaging needs with the shift supervisor and ensure lines are stocked with foil, cartons, trays, and other materials. You will set up and operate packaging equipment such as carton erectors and inserters, assist operators for smooth workflow, verify product labels, manage break schedules, and aid in training and quality checks to maintain safe, efficient packaging

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months of Packaging Operator experience preferred.
• Capable of lifting 25 pounds and standing for up to 12 hours.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with Shift Supervisor the packaging needs on production equipment.
• Ensures lines are adequately supplied with materials (foil, cartons, trays, etc.).
• Assists Packaging Operators to ensure a smooth workflow; setup and operate packaging equipment.
• Ensures labels match product when manual labeling is required.
• Manages break schedules for packers.
• Supports troubleshooting and training initiatives for Packers.
• Audits packer standard work and quality checks.

Main Responsibilities

• Coordinates with Shift Supervisor the packaging needs on production equipment
• Ensures all lines are adequately supplied with materials needed. For example:
  • Foil
  • Cartons
  • Trays
  • etc.
• Assists Packaging Operators as needed to ensure a smooth workflow
  • Setup and operate multiple types of packaging equipment. Equipment may include, but is not limited to: carton erectors, partition inserters, product inserters, top closers, palletization equipment
• Ensures labels correctly match the product in facilities where manual labeling is required
• Manage and assign break schedule for packers
• Support troubleshooting and training initiatives for Packers
• Audit packer standard work and completion
• Audit packer quality checks and completion

What Makes You Great

Qualifications and Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 6 months of Packaging Operator experience preferred
• Some lead experience preferred
• Good mechanical skills
• Capable of lifting 25 pounds and standing for a minimum of 12 hours
• Able to work with multiple types of equipment simultaneously
