Job description

ASR Group is the world's largest refiner and marketer of cane sugar, with an annual production capacity of more than 6 million tons of sugar. The company produces a full line of grocery, industrial, food service and specialty sweetener products. Across North America, ASR Group owns and operates six sugar refineries, located in Louisiana, New York, California, Maryland, Canada and Mexico. OVERVIEW:

The Packaging Supervisor will direct sugar packagingoperations on rotating shifts. The supervisor will direct teams of specialized union employees ensuring good manufacturing practices and safe operating procedures. The supervisor will achieve standard production volume, quality standards, and regulatory compliance through the supervision of hourly personnel (up to 35) on rotating shifts.




KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILLS:



  • Achieving results through subordinates in a unionized environment

  • Maintaining standard production rates while maintaining compliance with safety, regulatory and quality standards

  • Leading assigned teams in the continuous improvement process

  • Training team members on proper procedures



EXPERIENCE:



  • 2 years of experience working in a packaging operation preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience leading a team in an industrial setting or equivalent military leadership

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation

  • Basic industrial electric background, computer, PLC programming, and mechanical troubleshooting skills

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices

EDUCATION:



  • Four year degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent military experience preferred

  • High School Diploma or GED required




SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:



  • Up to 35employees per shift



SALARY PAY RANGE:$62,500 - $115,000 plus bonus


The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on the candidate's qualifications and prior experience.
