Job summary

J.S. McCarthy Packaging + Print is seeking a detail-oriented Packaging Structural Designer to translate customer concepts into production-ready packaging. You'll work with Sales, Customer Service and Production to ensure designs meet expectations and are feasible on our equipment.

The role requires Esko ArtiosCAD proficiency, knowledge of folding carton construction, and strong problem-solving skills. You will develop CAD layouts, dielines, prototypes, and drive continuous improvement across

Qualifications

Proficiency in Esko ArtiosCAD is required.
Experience with packaging CAD or structural packaging design.
Understanding of folding carton construction and dielines.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects across departments.
Prepress Mac Operator skills are a plus.
Degree in Structural Design or related field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Create and modify structural packaging designs using ArtiosCAD.
Develop CAD layouts, dielines, prototypes, and production-ready files, coordinating with customers and production on requirements.
Troubleshoot structural design and production concerns from stakeholders.
Collaborate with internal departments to move projects from concept through production.
Identify opportunities to improve packaging design, efficiency, and material utilization.
Follow SOPs while offering suggestions for continuous improvement.
