RRD is seeking a packaging platform design leader to oversee the design staff, organize processes, and steer projects from concept to production.

You will direct output, ensure workflows, and communicate with clients, sales, and manufacturing, delivering high-end packaging solutions with 3D renderings and assembly instructions.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in packaging structural design, strong leadership, and advanced CAD skills including ArtiosCAD, SolidWorks, and Rhino.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-year degree or related experience.
• Experience in packaging structural design.
• Ability to mentor junior team members.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong design and manufacturing knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee platform design team output and prioritize requests.
• Ensure consistent internal processes, workflows, and specs.
• Represent design group with clients, sales and other platforms.
• Manage design projects through all stages and communicate with teams.
• Review work and provide timely feedback to the team.
• Interact with clients and sales to demonstrate value as packaging expert.
• Lead high-profile client projects and initiatives.
• Create designs for production efficiency and client testing standards.
• Develop structural design solutions for paper-based packaging.
• Create 3D renderings and detailed assembly instructions.
• Deliver high-end packaging prototypes for presentations.
