Job summary

Professional Packaging Systems is seeking a Packaging Sourcing & Procurement Coordinator to own day-to-day sourcing, vendor management, and procurement activities ensuring materials flow on time and on spec. You will collaborate with kitting/fulfillment, account managers, and operations leadership to translate customer requirements into purchase orders and supplier programs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain coordination.
• Familiarity with corrugated packaging materials, board grades, and basic specifications.
• Experience issuing purchase orders and managing vendor relationships.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel — pivot tables, VLOOKUP, basic cost modeling
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent programs
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for internal and supplier-facing work

Responsibilities

• Source and manage a panel of packaging vendors and materials.
• Translate customer requirements into purchase orders and supplier specs.
• Issue RFQs, evaluate bids, and negotiate terms.
• Maintain lead times and safety stock models for material categories.
• Monitor open orders and communicate delivery risks to operations and sales.
• Track packaging spend and support cost-down initiatives.
