Job summary

RRD is seeking a Packaging Specialist for the 1st shift at the Midland, MI location. The role involves shipping, receiving, and packaging materials for shipment via FedEx, UPS, and other couriers. You will maintain documentation and train new team members.

Typical duties include using scales and small hand tools, preparing bills of lading, and moving goods with hand trucks. The role requires at least 1–2 years in shipping/receiving and a willingness to work overtime and weekends.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift 20–50 lbs occasionally and 10–25 lbs frequently.
• 1-2 years of shipping & receiving experience.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Performs manual and clerical duties related to the preparation and shipment of customer samples, components and finished products mailed primarily through Fed Ex, UPS, USPS or other similar carrier.
• Maintain necessary files and documentation.
• Utilizes small hand tools and operate scales, metering machines, etc., and primarily use hand trucks to move materials around.
• Typical shipping activities include: checking goods against shipping documents and authorizations, packing goods for shipment according to specifications, preparing bills of lading, posting weight and shipping charges and attach information and shipping instructions on to boxes.
• May occasionally perform activities related to the receiving materials such as unpacking of goods; checking against bills of lading, packing slips, etc., identification and quantity; maintaining records of good received; rejects damaged, excess or misdirected goods, routes material to inspection, stores or other destinations.
• Responsible for training and supporting new and existing team members.
