Job summary

RRD is hiring for a Packaging Specialist on 1st shift (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM) in the Production & Manufacturing department. The role involves assisting with daily shipping activities, handling materials movement, receiving, loading, unloading, and shipping printed products to customers via FedEx, UPS, and USPS.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of Administrative/operational support in shipping/manufacturing operations.
• Able to consistently apply applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and program objectives.
• Have general knowledge of information systems for materials tracking, storage and retrieval, and reporting.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Must have adequate oral and written communication skills.
• Requires strong organizational skills to meet deadlines and coordinate with others.
• Ability to safely operate Powered Industrial Vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Manages shipment and receipt of materials, supplies, equipment and finished products shipped via freight or third party LTL carrier.
• Checks against shipping documents, prepares bills of lading and attaches shipping instructions.
• Unloads trucks and inspects against bills of lading and packing slips; maintains records of goods received.
• Performs routine duties to support manufacturing areas and maintain paperwork.
• Operates basic material handling equipment to stage materials and load trucks.
• Communicates with customers, suppliers, customer service and production to coordinate activities.
