Job summary

RRD is seeking a Packaging Specialist for 1st shift in Utah. You will assist with daily shipping department tasks including materials movement, receiving, loading, unloading, and preparing shipments compliant with customer specs and SLAs.

Responsibilities include verifying documents, packing goods, loading trucks, and maintaining records. You will use handheld tools and forklifts, support load planning, and communicate across departments to ensure on-time, accurate deliveries.

Qualifications

• HS dipl./GED preferred and relevant experience in shipping/manufacturing operations.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an administrative/operational support in shipping/manufacturing operations.
• Able to consistently apply applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and program objectives when carrying out the duties of the job.
• Have a strong knowledge of information systems, including materials tracking systems, storage and retrieval systems, inventory control systems and applicable reporting systems (spreadsheets, databases).
• Must have very good knowledge of technology to include computers and software programs.
• Must have very good oral and written communication skills across departments when completing assignments.
• Requires very good organizational skills to accomplish work by established deadlines and coordinate phases of work with others.
• Ability to safely operate Powered Industrial Vehicles.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
• Must be able to communicate and interact with a variety of internal/external customers and/or co-workers at level of detail required to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Assists with daily activities of shipping department regarding materials movement or handling, receiving, loading, unloading, transporting, stacking, order filling and shipping printed product.
• Performs manual and clerical duties related to preparation and shipment of customer samples and finished product via FedEx, UPS, USPS and other carriers.
• Ensures product is produced and prepared according to customer specifications and service level agreements.
• Performs manual and clerical duties related to shipment and receipt of materials, supplies, equipment and finished products shipped via freight or third party LTL carrier.
• Packs and prepares bills of lading, posts weights and shipping charges, and attaches shipping instructions on boxes.
• Unloads trucks and checks against bills of lading, packing slips, etc., maintains records of goods received.
• Supports manufacturing areas per standard procedures.
• Maintains files and documentation.
• Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks; assists with load planning and staging.
• Coordinates with management on action plans to improve efficiencies.
• Communicates with customers, suppliers, customer service, and production.
