nextSource Connect in Dallas, TX is seeking a Contract Project Engineer to support packaging development and commercialization initiatives, combining project management with technical engineering.

The role entails coordinating cross-functional teams, managing timelines and deliverables, and overseeing hands-on testing to ensure design intent and market readiness. Hybrid work schedule and 1-year contract with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in engineering, packaging, or project coordination.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables across multiple programs.
• Request and track development and costs.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including Engineering, Marketing, and external partners.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation and records.
• Review technical drawings and dyelines to ensure design intent and feasibility.
• Support packaging development through specifications, documentation, and technical input.
• Assist with material selection and component compatibility evaluation.
• Coordinate and perform packaging testing to ensure performance and quality standards are met.
• Track test progress and document results for internal teams.
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues.
• Partner with Marketing and cross-functional teams to prepare products for market launch.
• Ensure all technical deliverables and approvals are completed on time to support launch timelines.
