Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Co. Topeka Plant is seeking a Dry Packaging Technician, Team A, to operate packaging lines and maintain high safety standards in a busy production environment.

Ideal candidates will have a high-school degree, be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts, and demonstrate strong teamwork, problem-solving, and hands-on mechanical aptitude, including tool use. The role emphasizes GMP/Safety and consistent attendance.

Qualifications

• Must be able to report to work on time and to work the entire scheduled work period or shift.
• Timely and regular attendance is required.
• Able to handle and manage stress in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a can-do attitude.
• Must be flexible to work additional hours when required.
• Team player with cooperative attitude; supply your own hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company Safety Rules and GMP’s.
• Produce high quality products in a safe and healthful manner.
• Assigned shift attendance is required.
• Work in all areas of production and packaging, including operating around machinery.
• Work as part of a team and assist fellow employees.
• Ability to work on and fix mechanical issues such as replacing cylinders, bearings, belts, pulleys, etc.
