Job summary

J.m. Smucker is seeking production operators for the Topeka Plant. The role involves making emulsions, dye, and coating, with rotating 12-hour shifts and up to 7 days per week.

A $1000 retention bonus applies to selected hires, with an initial start rate of $25.50 per hour. Sanitation, safety, and equipment monitoring are essential. Responsibilities include running and monitoring continuous systems, performing weekly start-ups and cleanups, and basic maintenance of equipment.

Qualifications

• Ability to work alone/unsupervised and make decisions when needed.
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly to changes in the production line.
• Knowledge of reading diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot equipment.
• Basic safety knowledge applicable to a high-speed production environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and aptitude for operating multiple systems.

Responsibilities

• Make emulsions, dye, and coating as part of the production process.
• Add hand-adds to dry mixes and monitor system operation continuously.
• Conduct weekly start-ups, shut-downs and clean-ups.
• Perform minor maintenance of department equipment as needed.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness in production areas.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack and hand truck for material handling.
• Work rotating 12-hour shifts, up to 7 days per week.
