Job summary

Royal Canin (Mars, Incorporated) in Fremont, Nebraska is seeking a Process & Product Implementation Engineer – Packaging to lead industrial packaging trials and scale innovations into plant operations. You will serve as the factory-level R&D representative, ensuring safety, product quality, line efficiency, and sustainability goals are met during trials.

The role requires 1–3 years of manufacturing/engineering experience, a technical degree, and hands-on ability with high-speed packaging

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, or related field with 1–3 years of manufacturing/engineering experience.
• Alternative: HS diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant technical manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead site-level packaging trials from protocol preparation, raw material staging, line trial execution, quality sampling, to technical reporting.
• Act as the on-site technical authority during line validations, evaluating film machinability, sealing performance, line throughput, and package integrity.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate industrial and technical risks prior to full commercial rollout; support GO/NO GO decision gates.
• Cross-functional collaboration with Fremont Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality & Food Safety, CVS, and Regional R&D Deploy teams.
