Job summary

Mars, Incorporated's Royal Canin facility in Lewisburg, Ohio seeks a Process & Product Implementation Engineer – Packaging to lead industrial packaging trials and the qualification of new materials and equipment. You will ensure packaging designs translate safely into operations, maintaining product quality, throughput, and waste reduction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science, Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Supply Chain, or related field; 1–3 years manufacturing/engineering.
• Or HS diploma with 5+ years relevant technical manufacturing experience.
• Preferred: experience in food/beverage manufacturing or high-speed packaging operations.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or related certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Packaging Innovation Deployment & Industrial Trials: lead site-level packaging trials from protocol to reporting.
• Technical Authority: act as on-site authority during line validations; evaluate machinability and seal performance.
• Risk Assessment: identify and mitigate risks prior to full rollout; support GO/NO-GO gates.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, QFS, CVS, and R&D teams.
• Sustainability & Material Transition: drive Mono-PE structures, plastic reduction, and paper transition.
• Specifications & SPC: manage R&D specs; define SRC envelopes; apply SPC to reduce variation and waste.
• Continuous Improvement & Training: RCA, 5-Why, DMAIC; write SOPs and train operators; ensure HSE compliance.
