Job summary

Lamb Weston is seeking a Packaging Operator Trainee in American Falls, ID. Under supervision, you will operate and maintain packaging equipment, monitor quality, and support safe, efficient production across main lines and co-products packaging.

This role includes shift flexibility and opportunities for advancement. Responsibilities include ensuring accurate packaging sizes, recording line metrics, and assisting in changeovers while complying with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must have good communication skills oral and written.
• Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
• Must be able to stand for long periods at a time.
• Must have the manual dexterity and ability to safely use cleaning equipment.
• Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work in adverse conditions (i.e. extreme cold and heat, extreme wet, within closed surroundings).
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or on‑job type training along with Team Leaders help and instruction.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, monitor and adjust packaging equipment from freezer exit through cased goods.
• Maintain safety practices and participate in safety programs.
• Monitor line-flow rates, packaging materials, scales, baggers, case-packers, case erectors, sealers, and related equipment.
• Ensure proper container sizing and complete packaging quality checks.
• Record packaging machinery efficiencies and downtime; fill reports accurately.
• Troubleshoot equipment operation and notify appropriate personnel as needed.
• Provide direction to packaging laborers and temporary staff to ensure efficient operation.
