Job summary

Utz Quality Foods in Kings Mountain, NC is hiring a Packer to join our manufacturing team. You will assemble cartons, pack product, stack onto pallets, and inspect packaging quality while maintaining a safe, clean work environment to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Must follow all personal and food safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Stand the majority of shift.
• Lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Pack a minimum of 65 bags per minute within the first 90 days.
• Must multitask.
• Must be team oriented with good communication.
• Basic math skills are required.
• Strong commitment to company values.

Responsibilities

• Assemble cartons, apply and pack cases according to specifications.
• Label boxes with correct labels and dates.
• Stack completed product onto pallets in proper configurations.
• Inspect the quality of product, packaging and finished boxes.
• Check packages for proper weight, code and label information.
• Address quality or production issues as directed.
• Work in a cross functional team with diverse groups.
• Enter production data and perform in-process quality checks.
• Proactively identify and address safety and equipment issues.
• Assist with daily sanitation and maintain clean areas and equipment.
• Coordinate supplies and support as needed to maximize efficiency.
• Cover for other packers during absences.
• Provide suggestions on continuous improvement opportunities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
