Job summary

Shurtape Technologies, LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Operator to run and set up complex rewinding, converting, coating, or slitting machines. You will direct work centers to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and adherence to SOPs, with a focus on continuous improvement and meeting production targets on a fast-paced line.

Qualifications

• Complete any manufacturing formal training specific to assigned work centers.
• Able to perform multiple, sometimes complex, tasks.
• Work requires effective math skills.
• Must demonstrate a professional attitude toward work and co-workers.
• Must be punctual and dependable. (Arriving to work, showing for overtime, managing break times, etc.)
• High School or GED equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex machine set up and changeovers.
• Operate assigned equipment efficiently and communicate with Shift Manager when production goals are not met.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of the machine.
• Ensure machines operate safely; report safety issues immediately.
• Instruct team members on safe operation and potential hazards.
• Follow production schedule as directed by planning team or Shift Manager.
• Follow established SOPs and work order instructions; report discrepancies.
• Confirm component accuracy with BOM.
• Set machines to run at speeds to reach goals.
• Support safety, housekeeping, 5S, and preventive maintenance.
• Instruct new team members on safety, quality, and productivity standards.
• Use PPE when required.
• Support company culture and values, promote teamwork and respect.
• Update production metric boards accurately and timely.
• Inspect raw material visually and report defects or quality concerns.
• Notify material handlers to avoid shortages.
• Complete work center documents accurately.
• Pack finished product correctly and ensure proper labeling.
• Fill out Supplier Quality Cost Recovery forms as needed.
• Calculate standard production requirements from work orders.
• Communicate hourly production goals to team members.
• Move team members to balance line and eliminate bottlenecks.
• Know and follow Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Perform special projects as assigned by the Manufacturing Shift Manager.
• Count and label partial putaways for inventory accuracy.
