Job summary

WorkSmart Staffing seeks a Packaging Operator for the 3rd shift in Greenville, South Carolina. This entry-level role supports the packaging team and performs basic packaging tasks under GMP/FDA-compliant procedures.

Training on the 1st shift for 8–12 weeks will help you learn line operations and quality documentation. You will inspect labels, complete check-weighing, pack finished goods, and assist with line readiness and housekeeping while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or passing IVC reading comprehension assessment).
• Some manufacturing experience in a regulated environment preferred (cGMP/FDA).
• Strong attention to detail and dependable work habits.
• Ability to read and understand SOPs, batch records, and training documents.
• Comfort with basic math, English communication, and basic computer tasks.
• Team-oriented mindset and willingness to learn; reliable attendance for scheduled shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist packaging line activities, including assembling cartons and operating line components as assigned.
• Inspect and verify labels, lot numbers, and packaging components against work orders and quality criteria.
• Pack finished goods and complete basic rework/corrective actions to keep product compliant.
• Maintain packaging area readiness by performing routine cleaning and housekeeping after runs.
• Follow GMP, FDA, and company SOPs, safety procedures, and reporting requirements.
• Cross-train to support other functions and assist with onboarding/training of new employees as needed.
