Job summary

Altium Packaging in Sparta, Tennessee is seeking a packaging associate to assemble boxes, align them on the packing line, label and seal finished products for shipment. The role requires careful measurement, proper liner insertion, and adherence to PPE guidelines in a noisy, temperature-variant environment.

You will perform quality checks, stack completed boxes, and manage the conveyor flow with attention to safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle and operate machinery, tools or equipment used.
• Ensure proper use of PPE at all times.
• Select appropriate size boxes for running product, and assemble boxes with tape gun.
• Align 6-9 assembled boxes at the machine without blocking aisles or exits.
• Determine if caps are needed; insert liner and caps accordingly, or liner only for shipping.
• Randomly sample product for defects at conveyor end and report any issues.
• Fold liner over product to avoid contamination.
• Retrieve labels and place on completed box with proper placement.
• Place labeled boxes on cooling skids for ~60 minutes before finishing skid, ensure labels are visible.
• Seal box with tape gun and stack on finished skid with correct stacking.
• Overtime may be required due to business needs.
• Work environment involves exposure to fumes, noise and temperature variations while using PPE.
