Job description

Here at Mars, we have an exciting opportunity for individuals seeking employment to join our factory team as a Packaging Operator.

The Packaging Operator will be a multi-skilled packing associate responsible for achieving maximum efficiency of our packing lines while ensuring the highest safety and quality standards during the production of dry petfood. The role also involves identifying and delivering continuous improvement projects.

All positions are on a 12-hour rotating schedule:

Days: 6:00 am to 6:30 pm; Nights: 6:00 pm to 6:30 am - 4 days on, 4 days off. Shift rotates from days to nights every 12 weeks.

Qualifications include:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience in food manufacturing and operating high-speed packing machines
• Mechanical background is desirable but not essential
• Ability to multi-task

Key responsibilities:

• Machine setup, operation, and maintenance of automated packing machines
• Troubleshooting and repairs, including clearing jams and reworking defective packaging
• Performing quality checks and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
• Following safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout procedures
• Completing cleaning, inspection, and lubrication tasks to maintain equipment functionality

This role demands attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to manage equipment independently. The position holder may perform other jobs consistent with their skill level and physical demands.
