Job Description:

Here at Mars, we have an exciting opportunity for an individual seeking employment to join our factory team as a Packaging Operator.

The Packaging Operator will be a multi-skilled packing associate responsible for achieving maximum efficiency of our packing lines while ensuring the highest safety and quality standards during the production of dry pet food. The role also involves identifying and delivering continuous improvement projects.

All positions are 12-hour, rotating schedules:

  • Days: 6:00 am to 6:30 pm
  • Nights: 6:00 pm to 6:30 am
  • Schedule: 4 days on, 4 days off, rotating from days to nights every 12 weeks.
What are we looking for?
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment and operating high-speed packing machines.
  • Mechanical background desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to multi-task.
Key Responsibilities:

The Packaging Operator ensures efficient operation of automated packing machines, including:

  • Machine setup and maintenance: setting up machines, loading materials, making adjustments, ensuring sanitation.
  • Troubleshooting and repairs: clearing jams, reworking defective packaging, troubleshooting faults, maintaining supplies.
  • Quality assurance: performing quality checks, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Safety practices: following safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Equipment management: cleaning, inspection, lubrication as per schedules.

This role requires attention to detail, safety, quality adherence, and autonomous equipment management. Additional tasks may be assigned based on skill and physical demands.
