Job summary

System One is seeking a Packaging Operator in Lakewood, New Jersey. The role is contract-to-hire with an onsite work model and a shift from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm.

The position involves handling chemical substances and operating manual or semiautomatic systems to produce sealants, adhesives, mortars, primers, and intermediates. The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma (trade school in electronics preferred), English literacy, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs repeatedly while

Qualifications

• High school graduate; trade school certification in electronics or related field preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend documents in English.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs repeatedly during shift.
• Ability to understand, analyze and resolve technical problems in the work area.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual or semiautomatic systems processing chemicals into products such as sealants, adhesives, mortars, primers and intermediates.
• Load solids into heating/cooling vessels and set controls to start automatic feed.
• Monitor reactions, gauges and recorders; adjust operations as needed.
• Draw samples for QC tests and verify product conformance using standard equipment.
• Forklift-pack, palletize, shrink-wrap and stage products for transport to warehouses.
• Perform minor maintenance and maintain housekeeping; comply with safety rules.
• Assist with special projects and ensure safety regulations are followed.

Packaging Operator Responsibilities:

• Operate manual or semiautomatic systems processing chemical substances into industrial or consumer products such as sealants, adhesives, mortars, primers, and intermediates.
• Load specified amounts of solid materials into heating/cooling vessels or blending tanks and set controls in specified sequences to start automatic feed.
• Monitor chemical reactions, gauges, signals, and recorders; receive notifications to make operating adjustments.
• Draw samples for quality control analysis and perform chemical tests/QC checks to ensure product conforms to specifications using standard test equipment, materials, and procedures.
• Use a forklift to package, palletize, shrink-wrap, and stage products into a staging area or directly onto trucks for transportation to external warehouses.
• Perform minor maintenance of equipment, workstations, and manufacturing areas; maintain good housekeeping and adhere to all safety rules.
• Assist with special projects as needed and ensure conformance with safety regulations.
