Job summary

System One is seeking a Melt Operator in Landisville, PA to operate melt elements for alloy production and to support subsequent crushing and milling operations. This onsite role runs 36 hours weekly, Friday through Sunday, with start times at 6:30 a.m.

and shift to 7:00 p.m., under a contract-to-hire arrangement. The ideal candidate will interpret part prints, perform basic troubleshooting, maintain accuracy, follow strict safety protocols, and lift up to 40 lbs in a production environment

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–2 years manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret part prints.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills.
  • Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs and working safely.

Responsibilities

  • Operate melt elements to produce alloy for magnets and support crush/milling operations.
  • Adhere to safety precautions handling gases and lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Clean and prepare furnaces and work areas to set standards.
  • Accurately weigh material for melt load and transfer to the furnace.
  • Organize raw materials to ensure correct material lots are used.
  • Identify flaws in coil boxes and crucibles and perform repairs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Monitor furnaces for melt accuracy and meet production rates and quality standards.
  • Record data into ERP, routers, logs, databases, and control charts.
  • Perform in-process inspections as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Melt elements used to produce alloy for the production of rare earth magnets and crush alloy for ball milling and jet milling operations.
  • Adhere to required safety precautions including handling hydrogen, nitrogen, and argon gases, lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Clean and prepare furnaces and work area to set standards.
  • Accurately weigh material for melt load amount/alloy type and transfer into the furnace.
  • Organize raw materials to ensure correct material lots are used.
  • Identify flaws in coil boxes and crucibles and perform repairs as necessary.
  • Perform required preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Monitor furnaces for melt accuracy and meet production rates and quality standards.
  • Record data accurately into ERP computer system, manufacturing routers, logs, databases, and control charts.
  • Perform in-process inspections as needed.
