Job summary

Ferring Pharmaceuticals in Parsippany, NJ seeks a Manager, Packaging to lead visual inspection, labeling, serialization, and secondary packaging for sterile products. You will oversee staff, ensure cGMP compliance, safety, and quality, and drive schedule execution and continuous improvement.

The role requires 5+ years in regulated packaging, 3+ years of leadership, and strong cross-functional collaboration. Bachelor’s in engineering or related field preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, packaging science, life sciences, operations, or related field preferred; equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered.
• Five+ years of experience in pharmaceutical packaging operations including visual inspection and labeling.
• Three+ years of people leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience supporting cGMP investigations, CAPAs, change controls, audits, inspections, and controlled documentation.
• Experience with sterile injectable products, automated inspection or packaging equipment, electronic batch records, enterprise systems, and serialization preferred.
• Knowledge of cGMP, 21 CFR Parts 210 and 211, packaging and labeling controls, visual inspection practices, data integrity, and quality systems.
• Strong leadership, coaching, communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and applicable manufacturing, quality, and enterprise systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily packaging operations to meet safety, quality, service, cost, capacity, and yield objectives.
• Ensure compliance with procedures for visual inspection, labeling, serialization, line clearance, component control, and reconciliation.
• Plan staffing, materials, equipment, and shift priorities aligned with production schedule.
• Maintain accurate paper and electronic records in line with data integrity requirements.
• Lead deviations, investigations, CAPAs, change controls, risk assessments, and effectiveness checks.
• Hire, train, coach, and manage employees; maintain qualification and succession plans.
• Monitor KPIs, identify trends, and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Quality, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Engineering, Maintenance, Validation, Automation, and Technical Services.
