Job summary

Bayer is seeking a Packaging Operations Senior Packaging Engineer in the US (New Jersey, Whippany) to lead packaging development and maintenance programs that protect brands and enhance supply chain efficiency.

You will partner with Product Supply, Development Center, and cross-functional teams to deliver packaging strategies, transfers, and supplier collaborations while driving cost savings and compliance. A strong background in packaging engineering and FMCG is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: Packaging Engineering Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent degree).
• Experience: Track record in packaging development, including creation, development & delivery of new packaging and maintenance of launched packaging, ensuring efficient production and best in class quality in the supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Assume remit for business protection & maintenance activities; development of secondary and tertiary packaging.
• On time, in full delivery of project success factors.
• Creation of meaningful improvements and cost savings projects to protect brands and defend vs competition.
• Effective technical transfer of information to the factory / CMO.
• Packaging leadership of US strategic business protection & maintenance projects.
• Create packaging solutions using in-depth technical knowledge, considering shopper, customer, channel, brand, financial, technical and compliance factors.
• Partner with the US Product Supply and Development Center for category protection & maintenance plans with packaging strategy insights.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure smooth transfer of information and adherence to requirements.
• Develop external partnerships to ensure best fit to project needs, innovative supplier selection, and cost targets.
• Develop internal partnerships to reduce damage in the supply chain and improve manufacturing efficiencies.
