Job summary

Ouachita Contract Manufacturing, LLC in Monroe, LA is seeking a skilled Packaging Mechanic to keep our packaging lines running smoothly and efficiently in a hands-on manufacturing role. You will perform setup, operation and maintenance of packaging equipment to deliver quality products globally.

The ideal candidate has experience with packaging lines, reads blueprints, and can troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a packaging mechanic, maintenance technician, or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Experience with packaging equipment such as fillers, cappers, labelers, or conveyors preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, or overtime as needed.
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain packaging machinery and equipment on the production floor.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure optimal machine performance.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on packaging lines.
  • Conduct equipment changeovers and line adjustments to meet production schedules.
  • Monitor packaging line operations and make real-time adjustments to maintain quality standards.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage in maintenance logs.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to identify and resolve equipment-related issues.
