Institute of Packaging Professionals is seeking a Packaging Mechanic to join our growing manufacturing team in Flanders, NJ. This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing packaging equipment to keep production running smoothly.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of hands-on maintenance experience, preferably working with packaging machinery, and be comfortable troubleshooting equipment independently. This on-site position offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on maintenance experience.
• Experience maintaining and repairing packaging equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with vertical or horizontal packaging machinery.
• Basic PLC and machine controls knowledge.
• Forklift/fork truck experience required.
• Bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair packaging equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspect machines for potential issues.
• Troubleshoot breakdowns and replace parts as needed.
• Work with vertical and horizontal packaging machines, including Matrix and Hayssen equipment.
• Troubleshoot basic PLCs, relays, and machine controls.
• Read equipment manuals and maintenance instructions.
• Operate a forklift/fork truck.
• Assist with general building maintenance as needed.
• Prioritize multiple maintenance needs and respond quickly to equipment issues.

Location: Flanders, NJ

Pay: $25/hour + overtime

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM

Work Environment: On-site
