Job summary

Unilever Hammond, IN seeks a Maintenance / Packaging Machinist to safely maintain and repair high-speed packaging equipment on a rotating shift. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and coordinate with teams to ensure minimal downtime.

The role requires mechanical experience, knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics, and the ability to work with limited direction while following GMP guidelines. Training and safety are emphasized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2+ years' experience in a similar role.
• Effective troubleshooting skills are a must.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on packaging lines and document work orders.
• Troubleshoot and repair high-speed packaging equipment (cartoners, case packers).
• Operate hand/power tools and repair parts from drawings or samples.
• Coordinate with managers, operators, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely repairs.
• Plan parts and materials for repair projects following approved procedures.
• Participate in shift handovers and communicate status and needs.
