Job summary

McKee Foods is seeking a Packaging Mechanic to join our Maintenance team in Stuarts Draft, VA. Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment used in the packaging and shipping areas to ensure uninterrupted production.

Hours are 3rd shift (Sunday–Thursday, 10:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m.) with onsite work and a $2.00/hr shift premium for 3rd shift. Competitive pay and a broad benefits package accompany this role.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of pneumatics and power transmissions (chain drives, e.g.)
• Ability to properly remove and install bearings
• Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical equipment
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints and drawings
• Accurate measuring ability
• Ability to furnish own tools
• Demonstrated ability to promote continuous process improvement and LEAN principles

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair all equipment necessary to the manufacturing function in the packaging and shipping areas
• Perform other related duties as needed
