Job summary

McKee Foods Corporation is seeking a Packaging Mechanic to support production in our packaging area. This role performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on packaging equipment to ensure maximum uptime and product quality.

The position is on the 3rd shift (Sunday–Thursday, 10:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m.) with overtime as needed. Pay ranges from $26.78 to $32.89 per hour, plus a $2.00 per hour shift premium for 3rd shift.

Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical/electrical maintenance and repair.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Familiarity with GMPs and food safety principles.
• Proficient with power tools and measuring instruments.
• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills, both mechanical and electrical.
• Willingness to work extended hours and overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on packaging and conveyor systems.
• Prepare production lines for startup and changeovers; test components.
• Monitor equipment to detect issues and prevent downtime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures and repair quickly.
• Disassemble machinery to replace worn parts and inspect components.
• Operate shop tools to fabricate or modify parts as needed.
• Use manuals and schematics to guide repair tasks.
• Complete work orders and maintenance requests on time.
