McKee Foods is seeking a Packaging Mechanic to join our Maintenance team at our Stuarts Draft facility. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment in the packaging and shipping areas to ensure continuous operation.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of pneumatics and power transmissions (chains, belts).
• Ability to properly remove and install bearings with precision.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical equipment.
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints and drawings.
• Accurate measuring and tool-handling abilities.
• Must furnish own tools and demonstrate LEAN improvement mindset.

Pay

• $32.83 - $38.29 / hour, depending on experience and qualifications
• Plus $2.00 / hr shift premium for 3rd shift hours

Schedule

• 3rd Shift (Sunday - Thursday, 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.)
• Clock out for lunch
• Onsite; other days and hours as needed

Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• Ability to properly remove and install bearings
• Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical equipment
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints and drawings
• Accurate measuring ability
• Ability to furnish own tools
• Demonstrated ability to promote continuous process improvement and LEAN principles

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of industrial maintenance experience
• Experience as a Maintenance Utility at McKee Foods
• Mechanical and/or electrical training at a technical school
• Sketching ability
• Pneumatics and/or Hydraulics experience
• Basic machine shop skills
• Basic welding skills
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Lift Truck Operator (L.T.O.) license
