McKee Foods Corporation is seeking a Packaging Mechanic to join our Maintenance team in Stuarts Draft, VA. This full-time role operates on the 3rd shift (Sun–Thu, 10:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m.) and involves installing, maintaining, and repairing packaging and shipping equipment to keep production running smoothly.

qualified candidates will read blueprints, troubleshoot mechanical systems, and apply LEAN principles for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of pneumatics and power transmissions (chain drives, e.g.)
• Ability to properly remove and install bearings
• Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical equipment
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints and drawings
• Accurate measuring ability
• Ability to furnish own tools
• Demonstrated ability to promote continuous process improvement and LEAN principles

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair all equipment necessary to the manufacturing function in the packaging and shipping areas
• Perform other related duties as needed

Pay

$32.83 - $38.29 / hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Plus $2.00 / hr shift premium for 3rd shift hours

Schedule

3rd Shift (Sunday – Thursday, 10:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.)

Clock out for lunch

Onsite; other days and hours as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of industrial maintenance experience
• Experience as a Maintenance Utility at McKee Foods
• Mechanical and/or electrical training at a technical school
• Sketching ability
• Pneumatics and/or Hydraulics experience
• Basic machine shop skills
• Basic welding skills
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Lift Truck Operator (L.T.O.) license
