Job summary

Campbell Soup Company in Hanover, PA is seeking a Packaging Machine Operator to safely and efficiently run packaging lines, ensure quality, and maintain production pace while upholding food safety standards.

You will perform setup, readings, labeling, nitrogen tests, machine changeovers, preventative maintenance, and problem-solving with teammates across Maintenance, QA, and Packaging to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to safely operate manufacturing and packaging equipment.
• Ability to perform machine setups, changeovers, adjustments, and basic maintenance activities.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on product quality and food safety.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to follow written procedures, production schedules, and safety guidelines.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, twist, and stand for extended periods.
• Willingness to work overtime during the week and on weekends based on production requirements.
• Commitment to teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Maintain shift documentation, including metal detector checks and batch order verifications.
• Read and interpret production schedules using MicroStrategy.
• Print labels using various printers and programs; clean and adjust printers as needed.
• Perform nitrogen testing and other quality checks.
• Monitor packaging machinery to ensure correct codes, dates, and pricing information.
• Maintain adequate supplies of roll stock and packaging materials.
• Set up and program bag-making equipment.
• Create and edit machine settings and micro logic to support efficient, low-waste operations.
• Create and modify code dates.
• Perform preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and equipment adjustments.
