Job Description: Packaging Machine Operator at FritoLay

Packaging Machine Operators are essential to our success at FritoLay! They are responsible for setting up and operating packaging machines and statistical scales to produce quality packages efficiently. This role offers growth opportunities within FritoLay and PepsiCo, our parent company.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Set up and operate multiple packaging machines to ensure accurate coding, weighing, and proper bagging of products.
2. Ensure products are correctly dated and sealed, minimizing waste.
3. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
4. Perform basic preventative maintenance on machinery.
5. Wear protective gear during cleaning and changeovers.
6. Inspect conveyors and scales before start-ups and changeovers.
7. Troubleshoot and adjust operations as needed.

Working hours are 24/7, and the environment can be loud, with large facilities and limited temperature control. The job is physically demanding, requiring standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs. Candidates should be comfortable working in a manufacturing setting, including at heights and in various weather conditions.

Minimum qualifications:

• At least 18 years old
• Availability to work weekends, holidays, and off-shifts
• Mechanically inclined, with 1+ years of machine operation experience preferred
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Basic math skills and proficiency in English reading and writing
• Physical ability to climb, bend, reach, and handle products repeatedly
• Willingness to work at heights using ladders or lifts
