Job summary

Idaho Pacific Holdings in Rigby, ID seeks a Production Bagger Lead to ensure packaging quality and proper seals, weights, and palletization on the finished product. You will inspect at shift start and during changes, operate line equipment, and perform minor mechanical repairs.

The role requires hands-on work, ability to train others, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards. You will document packaging data in reports and collaborate with QA, warehouse, and other shifts.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of production and packaging equipment, policies, and procedures to ensure safety of product and personnel.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to complete paperwork and reports; basic math skills needed.
• Good communication skills, both written and oral.
• Good time management skills.
• Ability to monitor self and processes to make improvements or take corrective action.
• Ability to work well with all levels of staff.
• Safety and Quality conscious.

Responsibilities

• Load material and products into package processing equipment.
• Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure the product being packaged is within specifications; work with QA and Flake Operators to produce a quality product.
• Measure, weigh, and count products and materials.
• Place product or materials into containers using hands, equipment, or fill containers.
• Remove defective products or materials.
• Trains and directs (with limitations) the activities of Baggers and Inspection Table personnel.
• Check Hyster oil levels and ensure safe operation of equipment.
• Check scales and bag weights at shift start and during the shift; record results.
• Communicate with other shifts or departments about problems or line changes.
• Record packaging information on reports and logs; records must be legible and in English.
• Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness of packaging areas.
• Ensure bags, date codes, and labels are correct at start and during product changes.
• Install clean magnets at shift changes and record material collected.
• Check for mis-sealed bags and ensure pallets are stacked neatly with readable pallet tickets.
• Replace damaged bags prior to transport and perform minor repairs as needed.
• Monitor the aspirator area for jams or bottlenecks.
• Complete checkout lists and necessary reports on time.
• Count and record rejected and finished items for shipping/storage.
• Adhere to safety policies at all times.
• Keep Manager informed of progress or problems.
• Complete other duties as necessary.
