Job summary

Athletic Brewing Company LLC is seeking a Packaging Lead for the Overnight shift in Milford, CT. The role focuses on operating, maintaining, and improving the beverage packaging line to meet quality and efficiency targets.

You will lead the packaging team during overnight runs, ensure safety compliance, and support training and SOP development to drive continuous improvement across the production line.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience on a beverage packaging line.
• 2+ years’ experience with fillers and conveyance systems.
• High school Diploma/GED (or equivalent).
• Forklift Certification.

Responsibilities

• Operate advanced packaging line equipment to meet production targets.
• Improve processes for efficiency and reduce product loss.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace per OSHA and company guidelines.
• Follow instructions and adjust production based on needs.
• Lead on the packaging line during shifts and support training.
• Communicate updates to management as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance and CIP on production equipment.
• Support supervisors with training and certification of staff.
• Enforce safety standards and SOPs across shifts.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate advanced equipment on a packaging line.
• Work to improve upon processes based on efficiency and minimal product loss.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment following OSHA and company guidelines.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete production adjustments based on changing needs of the business.
• Must be able to complete most tasks with minimal supervision.
• Assist management in ensuring all team breaks and lunches are taken within company guidelines.
• Communicate management updates and changes as appropriate.
• Perform minor preventative and appropriate maintenance on all machinery concerning quality, safety, waste monitoring, training records, and other related maintenance as necessary.
• May be required to assist Supervisors with training and certifying other employees.
• Perform opening and/or closing utility and machine procedures.
• Conduct CIP on all types of production equipment including but not limited to Canning line and kegging equipment.
• Enforce company and OSHA safety standards.
• Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
• Represent a strong presence of leadership by being actively involved on the production line during packaging runs, machine changeovers, and tank changes.
• Assumes leadership role for packaging team in absence of managment for approval/judgement calls.
• Ability to provide instructions and complete production adjustments based on changing needs of the business.
• Ability to keep the team on task, communicates effectively, provides guidance to the rest of the team as needed.
• Ability to create standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new procedures as needed.
• Ability to determine the root cause of equipment failures and make improvements to machines or procedures to eliminate future failures or equipment issues.
• Accurately complete and update information forms and logs.
• Ability to work in all assigned areas of packaging at an advanced level; perform relief duties when required.

Job Details

• Location: Milford, CT Schedule: 5x8 11 pm - 730am (Sunday - Friday)
• Salary: Commensurate with experience - Base salary and opportunities for performance bonuses. Hourly rate: $27.50/hr
