Job summary

Athletic Brewing Co. in San Diego, CA is seeking a Packaging Operator I to help efficiently package beer into cans or kegs, following standard operating procedures and supporting continuous improvements.

You will work on the 1st or 2nd shift, Monday–Friday, with an hourly rate of $23 plus opportunities for performance bonuses. The role includes benefits such as health, vision, dental, life, and a 401(k) with company match, plus paid parental leave and volunteering days.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Package product into cans or kegs following SOPs and adjust production as needed.
  • Operate machine stations: start/stop, setup, date code changes, tray placement, glue application, and packaging into machinery.
  • Shadow Operator 2+ to monitor packaging line operations.
  • Trainable in basic forklift operations.
  • Communicate status updates to management and packaging team.

Job Responsibilities


  • Basic ability to package product into cans or kegs following all standard operating procedures, while also being able to complete production adjustments based on the changing needs of the business.

  • Able to master basic operations of each machine station including starting and stopping machines, station setup, how to change a date code, proper placement of trays, where to put glue in, and packaging into machinery.

  • Monitor basic operations of packaging line machinery by shadowing Operator 2+

  • Able to be trained to perform basic forklift operations

  • Communicate with management and other packaging team members on the status of packaging.

  • Collect and submit pallet tags for cans, lids, and other packaging materials.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following OSHA and GMPs.

  • Familiarize with product and attend sensory pannels/off flavor training.

  • Basic ability to navigate Netsuite - builds pallet. print pallet tags, etc.

  • Fills out daily packaging forms to update daily logs for CIPs, Cleaning, Downtime, etc.

  • Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Skills And Experience


  • Previous manufacturing experience a plus.

  • Previous forklift experience preferred.

  • Basic computer skills - Word, Excel, email, NetSuite a plus.

  • High school diploma or GED required.


Job Details


  • Location: San Diego, CA

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday - 1st or 2nd shift, subject to change

  • Salary: Commensurate with experience - Base salary and opportunities for performance bonuses. Hourly Rate $23/hr
