Job summary

Baxter Brewing Co. in Lewiston, Maine is seeking a Packaging Lead to manage the last step before beer reaches shelves. You will lead day-to-day line operations, ensure quality, and drive packaging improvements.

Ideal candidates have packaging or brewery experience, supervisory skills, and a track record of teamwork and continuous improvement. This is an in-person, full-time role with 10-hour shifts and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED/HiSET.
• Previous packaging, production, or brewery experience; supervisory experience preferred.
• Class B license.
• Proven success in a fast-paced production environment.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Strict attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead change and guide teams through it.
• Positive attitude; a self-motivated team player.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Ability to work all shifts (day/night), with possible overtime.
• Forklift experience is a plus.
• Beverage or beer sales experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and optimize packaging operations, including canning and kegging lines.
• Drive SOPs and quality standards to ensure consistency, safety, and compliance.
• Monitor production and perform proactive maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Oversee packaging of cans, kegs, 12-packs, and cases meeting Baxter standards.
• Conduct data-driven quality control and document performance metrics.
• Collaborate with the Operations Director to align with production schedules.
• Onboard, train, and mentor new Team Members.
• Keep packaging areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Represent Baxter at public events as a brand ambassador.
• Support long-term planning using market trends and customer insights.
• Foster a high-performance culture and drive continuous improvement.
