Job summary

Wyld in Oregon is seeking a Packaging Lead to prepare and package products for distribution, ensuring accuracy and timely workflow. The role supports the Packaging team when Supervisors are absent and trains/coaches team members to meet quality standards.

This position requires at least 1 year in food production or manufacturing, supervisory experience, and familiarity with sanitation and safety regulations. A strong sense of urgency and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of directly related experience in a food production or manufacturing environment, plus 1 year of lead or supervisory experience.
• Experience with food manufacturing, sanitation and safety regulations.
• Ability to work with a high sense of urgency.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google, Slack; Jira experience preferred.
• English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Basic math skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Travel occasionally between buildings/sites.
• 21+ years of age or older per state regulations.
• ServSafe or Food Handler’s Card preferred.
• Background check required; must obtain state permits/licenses.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized, safe work area for yourself and other employees.
• Perform basic visual quality inspections on products.
• Maintain packaging flow by ensuring adequate product levels at each station.
• Ensure quotas are met by observing Packaging Support team members and training/coaching.
• Maintain high-quality standards during shifts including QA/QC of all products.
• Work well with others in high-pressure situations with a sense of urgency.
• Communicate discrepancies in quantities or quality of product; perform opening/closing duties.
• Ensure proper storage of all facility consumables and products; storing food products safely.
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards; keep area clean and organized.
• Inspect products visually and minimize waste where possible.
• Communicate information and respond to questions from various levels within the company.
• Assist Supervisors and Managers in training Packaging Support employees.
• Report quality or safety discrepancies to Supervisors/Managers.
• Provide recommendations on personnel evaluation and training for the Packaging Support team.
• Assist Production Manager or Packaging Supervisor as needed.
• Ensure a safe working environment; discuss safety topics daily.
• Additional duties may be assigned based on business needs.
