ProAmpac is seeking an Innovation Engineer for Active & Intelligent Packaging in a hybrid role based in Rochester, NY. You will work with cross-functional teams to move ideas from concept to market, evaluating concepts in the lab and coordinating plant trials.

The role emphasizes development of next‑generation packaging technologies, collaboration with brands, and applying regulatory knowledge to ensure compliant, scalable solutions. A strong background in food science or materials is preferred.

Formación

• Master's degree required in a technical discipline related to packaging, food, materials or engineering.
• Experience supporting product development, research, innovation, or commercialization in packaging or related industries.
• Working knowledge of microbiology, chemistry, packaging science, material science, statistics.

Responsabilidades

• Support development and commercialization of active and intelligent packaging technologies.
• Evaluate concepts through lab testing, product validation, and customer trials.
• Design and execute food shelf-life, microbiology, physical property, and performance testing protocols.
• Partner with R&D, manufacturing, quality, procurement, sales, suppliers, and customers to advance solutions.
• Lead and support plant trials and scale-up from development to commercialization.
• Research emerging technologies, trends, literature, and regulatory developments.
• Assist in troubleshooting technical and product quality issues.
• Support customer innovation workshops and collaborative product development.
• Develop technical documentation, specifications, and performance reports.
• Ensure compliance with FDA requirements and industry standards.
• Apply project management and cost-analysis techniques to drive innovation projects.
