Job summary

Institute of Packaging Professionals in Connecticut is seeking a Packaging Development Engineer to lead packaging innovation and productivity projects from concept through to commercialization and retail shelves. The role collaborates with internal customers to bring packaging designs to market and drive cost savings.

The position requires a packaging/engineering degree and 3–5 years of experience in packaging R&D for CPG, with strong communication skills and hands-on lab testing and line trial

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging or related field.
• 3–5 years minimum experience in Packaging R&D for CPG, Consumer Products, Food & Beverage or related industries.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute packaging innovation and productivity projects.
• Manage Innovation Project from concept through commercialization and retail shelves.
• Work with internal customers to commercialize packaging designs and concepts.
• Represent packaging in cross functional team meetings to develop and implement new packaging and packaging changes to realize cost savings.
• Conduct line trials.
• Conduct lab testing.
• Develop packaging specifications.
