Job summary

Amcor in Evansville, IN, is seeking a senior engineer to lead product innovation within the Rigid Packaging Solutions North America Research & Development team. You will drive the technical execution of new product development from concept through commercialization, collaborating with engineering, operations and business teams.

The role requires 4+ years of manufacturing and packaging development experience, strong CAD skills, and proven project leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing and product innovation.
• Experience with 2D and 3D CAD modeling.
• Prior experience in packaging development and innovation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage all stages of product innovation projects, including scoping, ideation, proof of concept, business case, implementation and commercialization.
• Utilize model shop and 3D printing to drive prototype design and development.
• Collaborate with pilot plant on installation and start-up of new/prototype molds or tooling.
• Lead with data-driven decisions, risk management and disciplined execution to meet timelines and budgets.
• Report deviations on time, cost and deliverables to senior management as projects progress.
• Ensure compliance with Amcor policies, industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Comply with all EHS and health requirements.
