Job summary

Amcor is seeking an onsite Equipment Service Technician to provide efficient service for Rotary Vacuum Chamber and other packaging equipment at protein processor plants in the United States. A Level II role requires a mechanical and electrical technical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot most packaging machine issues.

Travel will be 75% or more, and a valid driver's license is required. The position supports installation, start-up, and potential rebuilding of equipment at AFNA facilities,

Qualifications

• Technical Degree or equivalent in electrical or mechanical technology or similar discipline.
• Megatronics training and certification preferred.
• 3-5 years experience in food packaging industry (material & machinery).
• Willing to travel 75%+ and holds a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities.
• Understands customer requirements relating to problems to products and equipment.
• Services customer equipment, where applicable, to maintain optimum performance of equipment, packaging films and shrink bag materials.
• Provides preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and technical support for Rotary Chamber and other packaging equipment at customer facilities using Amcor materials.
• Maintains accurate and timely reports on work activities and time utilization.
• Assists in the installation and start-up of all packaging equipment manufactured and sold by AFNA.
• Assist in the rebuilding of Rotary Chamber equipment in Amcor's RE&D facility in New London, WI.
• Provides input into the design, installation and start-up of packaging equipment manufactured by outside suppliers or RE&D.
• Conducts training for the customers on proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Assists on projects and make take the lead on smaller tasks within an overall project.
• Establishes and maintains effective relations with customers, sales personnel and internal AFNA staff personnel.
• Completes relevant reporting within 5 days, completes expense reports within a month of business trip and turns in weekly schedules within designated time frame.
